Campaign statement

My position as a CPM Candidate focuses on providing the community more interaction as a whole through creation of a Dust 514 ISD, more accessibility for third party developers, and communication between the community and CCP. I want to focus on features that are functional, rather than aesthetic.

Experience in Dust

I started playing Dust 514's closed beta in June, 2012. Since then I have tried almost every single play-style that the game has offered from being a lone wolf in public contracts to being a director of a corporation in Planetary Conquest. I've spent countless hours playing the game and exploring it's every facet, letting my curiosity take me away in theorycrafting a plethora of information the game offers.

I've even gone so far as to get a tattoo of the Gallente faction logo on my arm!

Real life experience

Having been a QA Tester for a variety FPS modifications (Nations at War, Mercenaries, Project Reality) I've gotten a lot of experience in the field and have an almost meticulous process for identifying potential problems early on. I was also a developer for the text-based game Atonement RPI, having worked on level design, crafting, and conceptual programming using the retrofitted SoI engine.

Questions

What are the top three issues currently facing Dust 514 and why?

1) The game was built around the pretense that there would, eventually, be a player market. Without it, we need to look at other ways and mannerisms for which the player can have accessibility to the play-styles that they want to play without unnecessary stress.

2) Communication is absolutely fundamental and I feel that any way that we can provide volunteers (ISD), third party developers, and players in general an opportunity to interact more intimately with the developers and the community as a whole, should be considered a primary focal point of further development.

3) When it comes to balance, I feel that while short-term balancing woes are important, we could spend more effort on future platforms with which balancing will be considered, allowing each play-style it's own individual role and specialization that offers opportunities for emergent gameplay without bleeding too much into one another.

Why will you be an effective CPM member?

I have a mentality that provides blunt and to the point conveyance whilst retaining a level of professionalism, allowing my voice and the voice of the community I represent the power it needs to directed effectively. Using my experience as a former game developer I can provide momentum to set the stage for the community itself to be able to have more opportunities to have an impact, without the necessity of a middle-man, in a variety of ways.

In what way do you think the CPM can be improved?

At the moment, I feel that the CPM 1 candidates are utilizing every advantage that we have to communicate effectively with the players and I feel that it is, at current, too early to tell in what ways we can improve. However, I understand that I may not be viewing all the angles and am open to suggestions.

If a player wants to get in touch with you, the best way to contact you is:

I prefer personal communication via Skype and can be contacted under the username 'mrsmm1991'. If that is not preferable, I am fully open to communication via e-mail (nomistrav@gmail.com), Twitter (@Aeon_Amadi), or by in-game methods.

What is your opinion on Project Legion?

Project Legion is an important first step toward the next generation of gaming, even if it is overshadowing Dust 514 at the moment. I am ecstatic and fully supportive of Project Legion in the hopes that it will one day achieve the vision that we have all had for the FPS game that ties into Eve Online and would welcome it on any platform, PC or otherwise. I'm looking forward to seeing the community's input in it's design.
